Congratulations to Dr Lisa Saksida and Dr Simone Schnall, whose academic promotions have just been announced in the Cambridge University Reporter (No 6390, Wednesday 10 June 2015).

Lisa Saksida, who is currently Reader in Cognitive Neuroscience, is to be promoted to Professor with effect from 1 October 2015. Lisa is a Principal Investigator in the Translational Cognitive Neuroscience Lab, where she researches the fundamental psychological processes involved in memory and perception. Her research encompasses a variety of experimental methods, includes several species, and uses healthy and brain-damaged subjects. The touchscreen method for cognitive testing of rodents was devised in Lisa's Lab. Lisa is a Fellow of Newnham College.

Simone Schnall will be promoted to Reader with effect from 1 October 2015. Simone directs the Cambridge Embodied Cognition and Emotion (CECE) Lab and is a Fellow and Director of Studies in Psychology at Jesus College. Simone uses the theories and methods of social and cognitive psychology to study the interaction between thoughts and feelings. Her current research projects are investigating how people decide between right and wrong, and how people perceive the physical world in which they live.
