Trevor Robbins Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratories are happy to host your study!
To make the experience safe for everybody, please, follow common-sensical good laboratory practice and some intuitive rules and principles. This is a shared facility open to anyone from within the Department so let's make it welcoming for everyone!
To Read & Sign
To start you off, before we run your project at TRCNLabs, please familiarise yourself with the following documents (each file requires university access):
1) Manual
Outlines general on-site and safety procedures, but is ultimately designed to complement the in-person Induction.
2) Lone Working & Working Out Of Hours Risk Assessment
Supplements the Manual by laying out emergency procedures for when there are no First Aiders & Fire Wardens on the floor.
3) TRCNLabs General Risk Assessment
With the name that speaks for itself, additionally provides some inspiration to completing your own Study Protocol & RA.
To Prepare
Prior to you data collection at TRCNLabs, you will need to put together the following paperwork:
- Ethics (the letter of approval for your designed study)
- Study Protocol
- Consent Forms
- Info Sheets for your participants (e.g. introduction & debrief)
- Risk Assessment (keep in mind to acknowledge risks for both the researcher and the participants)
Access-wise, you will need a Booker Account to be able to secure your time-slots and your University ID Card programmed to give you entry to the floor. Contact the Lab Technician for details (Nina - ns963@cam.ac.uk).
Researchers are also encouraged to use the Psychology Department's SONA platform for recruitment purposes.
