Teaching in the Department is delivered by academic staff, many of whom are world leaders in their field. Several members of staff are Fellows of the Royal Society. Teaching takes the form of lectures, seminars, practical classes and supervisions.
For psychology, Cambridge is ranked 1st in The Complete University Guide 2025, 2nd in the Guardian's University Guide 2024: league table for psychology and 3rd in the World University Ranking 2024.

Psychology teaching in PBS is accredited by the British Psychological Society. Students who wish to become professional psychologists are eligible for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society, providing that they gain a minimum of second class honours, have received a pass mark in their third year research dissertation, and have successfully completed all core Psychology papers in their first two years.
