Emily Towner is a PhD Student at the University of Cambridge and a Gates-Cambridge Scholar. Her research focuses on adolescence and the brain, including topics such as loneliness, anxiety, mental health and social media.
Before beginning her PhD at Cambridge, she worked as a lab manager and research associate in the Brain and Body Lab at UCLA in the Psychology Department. In 2019 she graduated from UCLA with a Master’s Degree in Social Science. Before UCLA she completed a postbaccalaureate program in psychology from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Media from the City University of New York.
