The Experimental Psychology Society recognises the distinguished work of Professor Nicola Clayton with a Mid-Career Award.
Professor Nicola Clayton was presented with the Experimental Psychology Society's Mid-Career Award at the EPS Lancaster Meeting earlier this month. Professor Clayton delivered the Mid-Career Award Lecture, the title of which was 'Ways of thinking: From crows to children and back again'.
The Lancaster Meeting, which took place from 10-12 April at the University of Lancaster, also included a Symposium to accompany Professor Clayton's Mid-Career Award Lecture.
The Symposium, which was convened and chaired by Professor Anthony Dickinson, was entitled 'Mental time travel'. Mental time travel is currently a topic of great theoretical and empirical interest and Professor Clayton has made an important contribution to its comparative aspects through her research.
Speakers at the Symposium included Professor Daniel Gilbert (Harvard University), Dr Tom Smulders (Newcastle University), and Dr Lucy Cheke (Department of Psychology, University of Cambridge).
The EPS Mid-Career Award, which was established in 2002, is awarded annually and its first recipient was Professor John Duncan (MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit).
