Biography
I am an interdisciplinary ESRC DTP student working jointly with the Department of Psychology and the Department of History and Philosophy of Science, at the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence. I am interested in bringing philosophical and comparative psychological insights to bear on Artificial Intelligence research. Specifically, I study how children and deep RL systems compare on a range of comparative psychological tests, with the aim of engaging in a mutually beneficial dialogue between the two areas. I also work on philosophical questions that arise from this research, in particular, how we come to define 'cognition' and 'cognitive models'. Before joing the department in 2019, I completed an undergraduate degree in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics at Cambridge. I maintain connections with Cambridge Linguistics through the undertaking of undergraduate supervisions.
