On 28th October the first graduate event on writing and publishing for the 2014-2015 academic year took place. Four academic staff from the Department joined PhD students to discuss how to write articles effectively and get published in high-quality journals. Dr Jon Simons gave a presentation on ‘the basics of scientific writing’; Professor Zoe Kourtzi talked about ‘getting published in top journals’; Dr Jason Rentfrow shared his experience on ‘how to peer-review papers’; Professor Michael Lamb presented ‘publishing from the perspective as a reviewer/editor’.
The event was attended by around thirty PhD students. It was an excellent opportunity for students to learn important skills from the experts.
