Located in central Cambridge on the Downing Site, the Department of Experimental Psychology is part of the School of the Biological Sciences in the University of Cambridge.
The Department's research groups and labs carry out leading-edge psychological and neuroscientific research of world-class standard. In the last Research Assessment Exercise, conducted by the Higher Education Funding Council for England, the Department was awarded the highest possible score.
Inspirational teaching, for which the Department is celebrated, is delivered by academic staff of international standing; many of its past students have gone on to prominent positions in psychology and related fields throughout the world. In its most recent Teaching Quality Assessment, conducted by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education, the Department scored 24/24.
