The lab of Dénes Szücs has lead a large scale multi-lab replication study of the so-called attentional SNARC (The attentional spatial-numerical association of response codes) effect. This effect is considered crucial evidence suggesting that humans have an automatically activating spatial mental number line.

The replication project was vetted by the Association for Psychological Science (APS) and it involved 17 labs and 1105 participants. The original findings were not replicated.
