Department of Psychology

Yesterday evening saw Head of Department, Professor Trevor Robbins, giving the keynote speech at the British Neuroscience Association's Christmas Symposium 2014, which took place at University College London.

The theme of the Symposium was the Psychopharmacology of Christmas, and a question that was on everyone's mind was: how does Santa Claus keep going in the run-up to Christmas? He never seems to age - why might that be? How does he remember which presents are for whom - could he be helped by cognitive enhancers? And why does Rudolf the Reindeer have such a red nose (you might even say it glows)?

The keynote speech, given by Professor Robbins, was entitled Enhancing Rudolph: The Psychopharmacology of Christmas.

The event was very well attended, and some erudite seasonal fun was enjoyed by all.
