A new British drama, X + Y, which focuses on the life of Nathan, a mathematically gifted teenager whose ambition is to take part in the International Mathematical Olympiad, will be screened at the Cambridge Union Society tomorrow, Wednesday 4 March. Nathan, played by Asa Butterfield, has an Autism Spectrum Disorder, and the film portrays the challenges he faces in his relationships with others during his journey to achieve his goal.

X + Y, is directed by Morgan Matthews, who previously directed the BBC documentary Beautiful Young Minds; this experience served as inspiration for Matthews to make X + Y.

A panel discussion will follow the screening. Chaired by Professor Simon Baron-Cohen, the panel will include the film's director, Morgan Matthews, and Daniel Lightwing, on whom the character of Nathan is based.

The film's UK cinema release date is Friday 13 March.
