Department of Psychology

Dr Sander van der Linden has received  “The Frank Research Prize” for best social research in Public Interest Communications, awarded by the University of Florida, for his work on the social spread of misinformation. Three individuals are awarded this prize every year from a large pool of nominees, more information on the award can be found here and here.  

 The research paper is titled  The conspiracy-effect: exposure to conspiracy theories (about global warming) decreases prosocial behavior and science acceptance.  The BBC News article about the story can be read here
