Professor Trevor Robbins has been awarded a prestigious Wellcome Trust Senior Investigator Award. The research area on which Prof. Robbins will focus is "Fronto-striatal systems and impulsive-compulsive disorders". There have previously been only two other Wellcome Trust Senior Investigator awards in the Neuroscience of Mental Health.
The award, which will run over seven years, and starts at the beginning of December 2014, is worth approximately £2.8 million.
Professor Robbins is Head of Department and is also Director of the Behavioural and Clinical Neuroscience Institute. He is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society, the Academy of Medical Sciences, and the Royal Society. Earlier this year he was awarded the Brain Prize.
