Department of Psychology

Congratulations to MPhil student, Matthew Samson, who has been awarded a Gates Cambridge Scholarship to fund his PhD studies here in the Department of Psychology.

The Gates Cambridge Scholarship programme was established in 2000, with the first cohort of scholars beginning their courses of study in 2001. The Programme's goal is to create "...a global network of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others". The programme is open to applicants who are from countries outside the UK. Over 100 countries are represented by current Gates scholars and alumni.

Matthew, who grew up in Australia, is currently studying for the MPhil in Social and Developmental Psychology under the supervision of Dr Simone Schnall. He has a particular interest in researching the factors that cause moral judgements. Matthew will continue to work with Dr Schnall for his PhD.

Matthew's Gates Cambridge scholar profile can be found here.

Well done, Matthew!
