Graduate student Gabrielle Davidson has been awarded the Graduate Conference Paper Prize in the Sidney Sussex Graduate Conference 2014. The Graduate Conference took place on 1 March 2014 at Sidney Sussex College. This is the second year that the Graduate Conference has run.

Gabrielle presented a paper entitled: Salient eyes deter same-species nest intruders in wild jackdaws (Corvus monedula).

The judges were particularly impressed by the enthusiasm with which Gabrielle described her work, the way in which she located her research within a broader context, and the clarity of her discussion.  

Gabrielle is supervised by Professor Nicky Clayton, who is Professor of Comparative Cognition, and leader of the Comparative Cognition Lab., and Dr Alex Thornton, the Principal Investigator in Wild Cognition Research.
