Laboratory for Research into Autism: Research staff
Jamie Brown

Jamie Brown

Ph.D. student

Jamie completed a BA in Natural Sciences at Christ's College, Cambridge in 2005.

For his chosen Part II concentration, Experimental Psychology, he completed a dissertation and research project, both of which were concerned with how humans learn. This sparked his interest in the field of learning. Subsequently, Dr Kate Plaisted's enthusiasm for research into autism has focused that interest to the role of learning in autism spectrum disorders; Dr Plaisted is now his PhD supervisor.

Additionally, he has continued to research another theme from his dissertation: the relationship of IQ and the ability to learn without conscious awareness to expert behaviour. Between gaining his BA and beginning his Ph.D., Jamie worked as a research assistant at both the Institute of Employment Research, University of Warwick and the Department of Developmental Psychiatry, University of Cambridge.
